Who are we?

We are an unincorporated association formed in March 2005. We are a diverse group politically but are united in our belief in the importance of healthy, open media to a vibrant democracy. Although we do not have a formal membership roll, you may judge our strength by those who participate in our mailing lists. As of December 17, 2005, our LMR-Announce mailing list contained 317 addresses of persons who wished to receive our regular announcements and our LMR-Discuss mailing list contained 57 addresses of persons who indicated they wished to engage in more intense discussion of local media issues.

We are loosely governed by a Steering Committee drawn from those who participate in our activities. Comments and questions regarding our organization and governance may be posted publically to our LMR-Discuss list or may be sent privately to .
